Ralph Washington

Ralph Washington is of counsel in the McCarthy Law PLC Atlanta, Georgia office serving south metropolitan Atlanta including College Park and East Point. He earned his undergraduate B.S. degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and his J.D. degree from the George Washington University, National Law Center in Washington D.C. in 1974.

Mr. Washington is an experienced trial attorney having served as lead attorney in over 25 civil and criminal trials with extensive appellate court experience having made 7 oral arguments in the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, and filed 11 appellate briefs in State and Federal Courts resulting in precedent judicial decisions in both civil and criminal cases. His Federal Court experience began as one of the three founding staff attorneys with the Federal Defender Program for the Atlanta Division of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. As a former Wall Street investment banker with the New York based brokerage firms of Salomon Brothers, Inc. and Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc., he has unique experience in financial matters, where he specialized in Mortgage Bond Financings.

Mr.Washington is an avid proponent for individuals confronted with personal and financial problems with large organizations, serving clients facing mortgage foreclosures and loss mitigation mortgage modifications. As a Family Law Attorney, he has the highest Avvo Rating for professional conduct. Mr. Washington’s civil activities include: Leadership Atlanta, Inc., and the Georgia Real Estate Fraud Prevention and Awareness Coalition, GREPAC.
